Prove the work Pro
Test sessions
Test each key page template by hand, record the assistive technology and browser used, add screenshots, and sign the results off.
Updated for Lumtera 1.2.2 and Lumtera Pro 1.1.1.
Overview
Test sessions is under Lumtera → Checks → Test sessions. The Page templates table lists your key templates, found the same way scheduled checks find them, with each one's Status (Not started, In progress with how many checks are done, or Signed off with the date and person) and Results. Start testing opens a session; Continue or View opens it again.
At the top of a session, What you are testing with records the Browser, the Assistive technology and Its version. Each check of the guided checklist shows its WCAG criterion, an estimate of the time it takes, Tools to use, Steps and What to record. Choose Pass, Fail or Not applicable, add an optional note and screenshots, and press Save result. The result is stored with who tested it, when and with what.
When you are done, tick "I confirm these results are my own evaluation of this template" and press Sign off session. The results are locked and count in your conformance report. Checks without a result are listed as not evaluated. Only an administrator can reopen a signed-off session, with a reason that stays in the session's history.
Why does it matter?
Automated checks cover only part of WCAG. The rest needs a person with a keyboard and a screen reader, and that work is often done once and never written down, so nobody can show it later.
What do you get?
- One session per page template: the home page, a single post, the shop, checkout and more.
- Each check of the guided checklist gets a result, an optional note and up to ten screenshots.
- The browser and assistive technology used are recorded with every result.
- Signing off locks the session. Only an administrator can reopen it, with a reason.
- Signed-off results count in the conformance report and are listed in your accessibility statement.
How does it work?
-
Open Lumtera → Checks → Test sessions
Your key page templates are listed, found the same way scheduled checks find them.
-
Test and record
Follow each check's steps, then save Pass, Fail or Not applicable.
-
Sign off
Confirm the results are your own evaluation, and the session is locked.
Who is it for?
-
Screen reader testing of key pages
Record which screen reader and browser were used on the checkout or the contact page, with screenshots of what was found.
-
Team testing
Split the templates between testers. Each result keeps the name of the person who recorded it.
-
Backing up a conformance report
Signed-off results appear in the report's remarks with the tester, the assistive technology and the date.
Good to know
How it behaves, what it needs, and where its limits are.
- Plans and access
- Included in every Pro plan with an active license. Recording and signing off need the See reports and check the site permission, which editors and administrators have by default. Reopening a signed-off session needs an administrator.
- Screenshots
- Up to ten PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP images per check, stored in your Media Library. Anyone with the link can open them, so do not capture personal data. Screenshots of a signed-off session cannot be deleted.
- Where results go
- The conformance report counts signed-off results per page. The accessibility statement lists manual testing of your templates among its evaluation methods. Results and sign-offs are added to the evidence log, without notes or screenshots.
- History
- Each sign-off and reopening is kept in the session's history, and a revision keeps each signed-off state.
- Consistency across pages
- On the Growth plan and up, the same screen compares menus, link names, help and search across the pages scheduled checks visit. Its findings need a person to review them.

How is this different from the free guided checklists?
Guided checklists are free for any page. Test sessions organise them per template, record the tools used and screenshots, and add a sign-off.
Does a signed-off session certify the site?
No. It is your own evaluation record. It shows what a person tested and found.
Are sessions covered by privacy tools?
Yes. WordPress's personal-data export includes them as "Lumtera Pro manual test sessions".
