Updated for Lumtera 1.2.2 and Lumtera Pro 1.1.1.

Overview

The Evidence screen lives under Lumtera → Reports → Evidence. It lists every evidence entry, newest first, with What happened, its Type, When, and the entry number with its seal: sealed and chained, sealed but not chained, or from before the ledger. Show filters by Scans, Manual tests, Accessibility statement, Applied fixes, Accessibility feedback, Disproportionate burden, Exception tags or Evidence ledger, and From and To set a date range. The Month by month card sums up each month of the last 12, or of the range you chose.

Entries are recorded as the work happens: a full content check, a site parts check, a scheduled page check or a form test finishes; a manual test result is saved or a test session is signed off or reopened; the statement is published or reviewed; a fix is applied, undone or confirmed by a re-scan; feedback arrives, is assigned or goes overdue; a burden assessment is recorded; an exception tag changes. Each entry is sealed with a SHA-256 hash that includes the entry before it. Verify ledger, on the Activity screen, checks every entry and names the first one that no longer matches.

Open evidence pack builds a document for print: a summary with the last 12 months, the scope and method with the coverage figures, score and coverage history, the accessibility statement, manual test records, verified fixes, the feedback log by reference, burden records and exception tags, the conformance report counts, and the latest ledger hash. Save as PDF gives a tagged PDF from Chrome or Edge, Download HTML saves one file, and Export timeline (CSV) downloads the filtered entries.

Why does it matter?

When a customer, a regulator or a lawyer asks what you have done about accessibility, scattered emails and screenshots are hard to trust. A record that shows the work month by month, and shows whether anyone changed it afterwards, is far easier to rely on.

What do you get?

  • Scans, manual test results, statement changes, verified and applied fixes, feedback, burden records and exception tags in one timeline.
  • Each entry is sealed with a hash that includes the entry before it. Verify ledger shows whether any earlier entry changed.
  • A month-by-month summary of what was checked, fixed and answered.
  • An evidence pack to save as PDF, download as HTML or export as CSV, with your branding and the latest hash.
  • No personal data in the pack: feedback is listed by reference only.

How does it work?

  1. Work as usual

Lumtera Pro records evidence as scans finish, tests are recorded and fixes are confirmed.

  2. Open Lumtera → Reports → Evidence

Filter the timeline by type and date, and read the monthly summary.

  3. Hand it over

Open the evidence pack and save it as PDF, or export the timeline as CSV.

Who is it for?

  • Answering a demand letter

Hand your lawyer a dated record of scans, fixes, manual tests and feedback answered, with a hash that shows whether the record was changed since.

  • Procurement and public-sector buyers

Attach the evidence pack to a questionnaire to show ongoing work, not just a single scan.

  • Handovers between agencies

The timeline tells the next team what was tested, fixed and decided, and when.

Plans and access
Included in every Pro plan with an active license. The Evidence screen, the evidence pack, the CSV and Verify ledger need an administrator.
What tamper-evident means
Someone with access to the database can still change or delete entries. Verify ledger shows whether they did. Keep the hash printed in each evidence pack: a ledger rewritten later no longer contains it.
How long evidence is kept
Under Lumtera → Reports → Activity, Keep evidence for sets the number of days. The default, 0, keeps everything. When set, the oldest entries are removed first and the ledger records it.
No personal data leaves
The pack and the CSV name no people: team members are not named, and feedback is listed by reference only. What visitors wrote, their names and addresses stay in the website.
Privacy requests
WordPress's Erase Personal Data tool removes a person's name from earlier entries without deleting them, and a new ledger entry records the change, so the chain still checks out.

Questions

Something else on your mind? Contact support

Can anyone change the log?

It is tamper-evident, not locked. Someone with access to the database can still change entries, but Verify ledger shows whether they did.

Does the evidence pack prove my site conforms?

No. It records your accessibility work; it does not certify conformance, and it is not legal advice.

Does the pack carry my branding?

Yes. It uses your report branding. With white-label on (Growth plan and up), the Lumtera credit is left out.

Why do some entries say "sealed, not chained"?

An entry written while the ledger was busy is still sealed with its own hash but not linked to the one before, so evidence is never dropped. Verify ledger counts these separately.

How long are long sections?

Each section of the pack lists up to 200 rows and says how many more there are.
