Legal
Terms and Conditions
These terms are the agreement between you and MantraBrain when you use our websites, download our free products or buy a license. They apply to every MantraBrain plugin and theme.
The short version
- Our plugins and themes are GPL-licensed. A paid license gives you downloads, updates and support for the sites and period of your plan.
- Yearly licenses renew each year. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. See the Refund Policy.
- Our products help you build and check your site; you stay responsible for your site, its content and the laws that apply to it.
- Nepali law governs these terms, but you keep any consumer rights your own country gives you.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what applies.
About these terms
MantraBrain (“MantraBrain”, “we”, “us”) is based in Nepal. By using mantrabrain.com or its subdomains, downloading our products or placing an order, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy (opens in a new tab). If you use our products for a company or a client, you confirm you can agree for them.
Nivorly, our Mac app, is licensed under the Nivorly terms of use. Where those terms differ from these, they apply to Nivorly.
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to buy from us.
Our products and the GPL
Our plugins and themes, including Sikshya LMS, Yatra, Ultimate Watermark, Lumtera, Easy Invoice and our themes, are released under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2 or later. The GPL gives you the right to use, study, change and share the code, and those rights do not end when a license expires.
The GPL covers the software code. Our names, logos and brand, our website content, and our documentation are not covered by the GPL and may not be reused without permission. Some images and fonts inside products may carry their own licenses, noted in the product.
Free versions are available on WordPress.org and our websites at no charge and without an account.
Paid licenses
A paid license (“license”) gives you, for the period and number of sites in your plan:
- downloads of the paid product and its updates;
- automatic updates in your WordPress dashboard;
- support from our team, as described in Support.
Your license key is for you or your organization. You may use it on client sites you build or manage, within your plan’s site limit, but you may not sell, publish or share the key itself. We may deactivate keys that are shared publicly or used beyond their limit.
When a license expires, the software keeps working on the sites where it is installed. You lose access to new downloads, updates and support until you renew. A product’s pricing page may describe more precisely what continues to work.
Orders, prices and taxes
Prices are shown in US dollars on each product’s pricing page. Depending on your payment method, your order is processed by FastSpring, which acts as the authorized reseller and merchant of record for those orders, or by PayPal. The payment provider’s terms also apply to the payment.
Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where the law requires it. You are responsible for any other taxes or bank fees in your country.
We may change prices for new purchases at any time. A price change for renewals will be announced before it applies to you. Discounts and promotions apply only as stated and cannot be combined unless we say so.
Renewals and cancellation
Licenses are sold for one year. Where your plan renews automatically, we email you before the renewal is charged. You can turn off automatic renewal or cancel any time in your account or by emailing us; you keep your license until the end of the period already paid.
Upgrades to a larger plan are charged at the difference for the remaining period unless the pricing page says otherwise.
Refunds
You can request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase or renewal. The details are in our Refund Policy (opens in a new tab).
Support
Support for paid licenses covers installing, setting up and using our products as documented, and fixing bugs in them. Free products are supported in their WordPress.org forums.
Support does not cover custom code, design changes, problems caused by other plugins, themes or hosting, or products modified by someone else. We are happy to point you in the right direction, and custom work can be quoted separately.
If you give us access to your site to solve a problem, we use it only for that request. Please give us a temporary account and remove it afterwards.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use our websites or products to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- attack, overload or try to get unauthorized access to our sites, store or license servers;
- get around license checks to receive updates or support you have not paid for;
- scrape our websites in bulk, or copy our website content, documentation or brand;
- misrepresent your identity or use someone else’s payment details.
Your site and your content
You are responsible for your website, its content, its backups and the data it collects, including meeting the privacy, consumer and accessibility laws that apply to it. Please test updates on a staging site and keep backups before updating.
Accessibility checks: Lumtera and other checking features find many common problems automatically, but automated checks cannot find every barrier. A good score or report does not by itself mean a site meets WCAG, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act or any other law.
AI features: where a product offers AI suggestions, they are drafts for you to review. They use the AI provider you choose, under that provider’s terms, and you decide what to publish.
Third-party services
Some products connect to services run by others, such as payment gateways, booking channels, email services or AI providers. Those services have their own terms and prices, and we are not responsible for them, their availability or changes they make.
Disclaimer
We work hard to make our products reliable, and we fix bugs we are told about. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, our websites and products are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. This matches the GPL, which also comes without warranty.
Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, MantraBrain is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from our websites or products. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end an account or license that breaks these terms, for example a key that is shared publicly, or a chargeback for an order you received. Where possible we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. Your rights under the GPL to software you have already received are not affected.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Nepal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim there.
Before any formal dispute, please email us. Most problems are solved quickly by talking to us.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our products change. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date and do not affect orders already placed. If a change is significant, we will email customers with an active license.
