Overview

Page checks adds a Page checks screen under Accessibility in the WordPress admin. Where the free Whole page tab checks the one page you are viewing and keeps nothing, Page checks works through a list of pages in one run and stores each result. Each page loads out of sight in a same-origin frame in your own browser tab, where Lumtera measures text contrast from the computed styles. The page HTML is then scanned on your server with the content checks plus the page-level checks.

The Choose pages panel suggests key pages and templates: the home page, the blog page, your largest category archive, search results and a 404 page. On WooCommerce stores it adds Shop, Cart, Checkout and My account. Below them are your 20 most recently updated posts and pages. Tick the pages you need, add another page on the same site as a path such as /about/ or its full address, and press Check selected pages. A progress bar counts pages as they finish.

Results lists each page with its errors, items that need review and a score, worst first. Issues opens the findings for one page; each contrast problem shows the text, the measured ratio and both colors. Re-check runs a single page again after you change the theme, Customizer or builder settings, and Remove takes a page out of the results and out of scheduled runs. Each row also says who ran the last check, Your browser or Scheduled, logged out, and when.

Why it matters

The free Whole page tab checks one page at a time and keeps nothing. On a real site the same theme problems repeat across dozens of templates, and the pages that matter most — checkout, search results, the 404 page — are rarely the ones anyone opens in Review mode.

How it works

  1. Pick pages

    Start from the suggested key pages and recent content, or add a path such as /about/.

  2. Run the check

    Each page renders out of sight in the admin and every check runs against the finished page.

  3. Fix at the source

    Each finding shows the markup involved and how to fix it. Colors usually come from the theme or page builder, so fix them there.

Who it helps

  • Theme and page-builder sites

    Low-contrast buttons, menus and footers usually come from global colors in the theme or builder. Page checks shows them across every template at once, not one page at a time.

  • WooCommerce stores

    Cart and checkout are checked with a sample product in your own cart session, so the forms customers actually fill in are tested.

  • Agencies before a launch

    Check the key templates before a redesign is signed off. The results also fill the Live page checks section of the client report.

Plans and access
Included in every Pro plan. The screen needs the same permission as the Lumtera reports, which by default means editors and administrators.
Your own site only
Only addresses on the site's own host and port can be checked. A page that refuses to load in a frame, or redirects to another domain, cannot be read and is reported as a note.
What your browser sees
Browser checks run as you, logged in, at desktop width, with the admin bar removed from the snapshot. Content shown only to logged-out visitors, such as a cookie banner, can differ. Scheduled checks cover that view.
Limits
Each page has 20 seconds to load. Up to 40 contrast findings are kept per page, and the same color pair on the same kind of element is reported once. Text needs 4.5:1, or 3:1 when it is large.
What it does not test
Target size, focus hidden by sticky bars, removed focus outlines, color-only links and reflow are checked by the free Whole page tab, one page at a time, not here. Keyboard use, screen reader output and mobile layouts need a person. A clean result means no automated issues were found, not that the page is accessible.

Is my site sent to a cloud scanner?

No. Pages render in your own browser while you are logged in to your site. There is no external service.

How is this different from the free Whole page tab?

The Whole page tab checks one page in Review mode and keeps nothing. Page checks runs many pages at once, including archives, search results and the 404 page that Review mode cannot open, stores the results, feeds the client report and hands pages to scheduled checks. The Whole page tab has a few browser-only checks, such as target size and hidden focus, that Page checks does not run.

Does a page check change anything on my site?

No content is changed; the check only reads the page. The one side effect is on WooCommerce: checking Cart or Checkout adds a sample product to your own cart session.

Why does a scheduled result show older contrast findings?

A scheduled check has no browser and no CSS, so it cannot measure contrast. It keeps the contrast findings from your last browser check and shows when they were measured. Press Re-check to refresh them.

Can I check a page that needs a login?

In your browser, yes, because the page loads with your login. Scheduled checks fetch pages logged out, so they see what a visitor sees instead. Client reports leave out pages whose post is unpublished or password-protected.
