Multi-Vendor Marketplace
Multiple independent instructors selling on one site — automatic revenue tracking, commission splits, vendor profiles.
Why this matters
Single-brand sites bill once and book the full amount. Marketplace operators (Udemy-style platforms) need to track which vendor earned what, calculate platform commission, and produce ledger trails for payouts.
What you get
- Each course tracks its vendor; orders auto-split into vendor revenue + platform commission.
- Vendor profile pages, vendor dashboards, vendor-scoped reports.
- Withdrawal request flow + admin approval; commissions ledger for accounting.
What it unlocks
-
Vendor-tracked orders
Every course is owned by a vendor. When an order completes, Sikshya splits the revenue automatically — vendor earnings vs platform commission.
-
Vendor profiles + dashboards
Public vendor profile pages and private vendor dashboards. Each vendor sees their own course performance — never the rest of the marketplace.
-
Commissions ledger
Every order writes a ledger row showing vendor share, platform share, and tax. Use it for payouts, 1099s, and accounting reconciliation.
How it works
-
1
Enable the marketplace
Activate the add-on. Existing courses get a vendor field; set the default platform commission percentage.
-
2
Onboard vendors
Vendors get an account with vendor-scoped permissions. They upload courses, set prices, and manage their own catalog from the vendor dashboard.
-
3
Run + reconcile
Orders write commission ledger rows automatically. Vendors request withdrawals; you approve and pay out through your payout method of choice.
Frequently asked
Does this send money to vendor bank accounts automatically?
No. Sikshya tracks what each vendor earned and runs the withdrawal request + approval workflow. The actual bank transfer or PayPal payout happens outside the plugin, using your preferred payout method.
Can different vendors get different commission rates?
Yes. The default platform commission is global, but you can override it per vendor or per course — useful for premium vendors or strategic partner deals.
Is this the same as Multi-Instructor?
No. Multi-Instructor splits one course's revenue across co-authors. Marketplace tracks independent vendors selling separate courses on the same site — different model, larger scope.
