Link text is vague

Why it matters

Screen reader users often jump through a list of every link on the page. Five links called "click here" or "read more" tell them nothing about where each one goes.

Who it affects: Screen reader users who browse by a list of links, keyboard users, and people using voice control who say a link's words to click it.

What Lumtera flags

Link text such as "click here", "here", "read more", "learn more" or "more". WCAG lets surrounding text supply the purpose, so this is a review item.

Check ID link-ambiguous-text — use it to filter the content report or with wp lumtera issues --rule.

How to fix it in WordPress

Rewrite the link so its text names the destination, e.g. "Read our refund policy" instead of "click here". If the design needs short text, keep it visible and add the full purpose with an aria-label that starts with the visible words.

How to check your fix

1. Update the post. The issue disappears from the Accessibility sidebar on the next check, and from the site report on the next scan.
2. Press Tab through the page. Every link and button should receive visible focus, and its text should make sense read on its own.
