    I am trying to setup a new site using the Matranews Pro theme in the same layout as the demo site Demo Site However, I am getting a gap below the Feature Slider. If I look at the page source, I see that the bx-viewport div on the demo site is set to height:425px, but the same div on my site is set to height:585px. In the browser, if I change the setting, the page look good.

    Am I missing a setting which influences the height of this div?

    Thanks,

    Hello @hjohnsonpca,
    Could you please deactivate all plugins once and check again. If still not fixed then could you please let us know your website url so that we can check it properly.

    UPDATE: Ok, I have spent all afternoon (with Howard) looking into this and have concluded that the gap in the middle of the page is a result of the mere presence of “Jetpack”. Deactivating all the widget DID “fix” the page gap problem, but only by also deactivating/removing Jetpack. I isolated Jetpack as the sole element effecting this. Twice I had to re-sign up for Jetpack and only then would the gap come back – with or without the presence of any widgets.

    We need help on this. Thanks.

    Hello John Beresford,
    We have checked on your site and this is not jetpack issue. Its because your image size. You have added larger than 5MB and 6MB images so it’ll take some time to load the image. That’s why this spacing appear. It’ll not appear after loading complete. But we recommend you to use smaller file size image so that your website will load fast 🙂

    We did what you requested. I bought the Pro version of TinyJPG and crunched all the offending graphics down to 85% of their original size. WHEN I ADD JETPACK back into the site it still has the same page gap. Now also the sidebar on the secondary (non-home) page has shrunk and is mis-formatting the tabbed widget there??

    Reducing the graphics did not solve the problem. Theme works great when I remove Jetpack. When Jet pack is added it breaks. I have to use Jetpack tools on this site.

    Please advise,

    John

    Please put this css to additional css section of your customizer

    .mb-featured-slider-wrapper{
    height:425px!important;
    overflow:hidden;
    }
    .tab-widget ul.widget-tabs li a {
    padding: 5px 4px;
    }

    This has been fixed on the desktop view, however the mobile version still has the gap. (However, when you turn your phone horizontally it is fine. Problem seems to exist with vertical orientation on mobile (at least iPhone).

    okey, then please update this css code from appearance->customizer->additional css , replace with previous one.

    .mb-featured-slider-wrapper{
       height: 251px;
       display: block;
       overflow: hidden;
    }
    @media (min-width: 979px){
      .mb-featured-slider-wrapper{
      height: 425px!important;
        overflow: hidden;
      }

    }
